Dr. Ayoub is a leading health educator, whose research in nutritional impact of foods in conditions affecting the nervous system as well as foods that impact human health for cancer has impacted many audiences. Dr. Ayoub is based in Santa Barbara, teaching at UCSB, SBCC, CSUCI, and was dean at Brooks Institute. His books include those published by East Street Press on health and a textbook for biology, and he has books on cancer, a cookbook and a novel.

Dr. Swan is a molecular geneticist and she is co-founder And science teacher of a project-based high school in Texas. She is co-author of the Biology textbook, and began her science career in the glaucoma laboratory Under Dr. Ayoub’s mentorship. Dr. Swan earned her PhD from UCSD, where she focused on gene therapy to combat HIV-1 infection. She has enjoyed bringing the world of science, research and understanding to high school students, many of whom have gone into the sciences thanks to her guidance.
Ms Bracho is a licensed clinical psychologist and attorney who provides valuable bilingual medical literacy support for a diverse clientele. Her experiences make her translation the go-to for Spanish-speaking families seeking medical literacy in California.
Dr. Tang is a molecular biologist at UCSF, and assisted in the biology textbook, providing the cover image of cells undergoing cell division.
